Remembering Alan Mooring, 1936-2026

UNISON Brighton & Hove mourns the loss of Alan Mooring, a devoted union member and the Secretary of the Brighton and Hove Retired Members of Unison Section for many years.

Born 1936, Alan had joined Brighton Borough Council in 1952, aged 16, initially as a clerk in the Health Department. He took two courses in Environmental Health over four years. Later on, he applied for a post in the Hove Council and had a team under him making inspections. When the Councils become amalgamated into the Brighton and Hove City Council, he decided to retire.
